Environmental and Applied Botany research group and the company BioEsperia srl. It is dedicated to research on the applicability of nature-based products in the cultivation of agronomically relevant plants.
Specifically, the project aims to enhance knowledge on the potential of soil amendments, biostimulants, biofertilizers, biopesticides, and resistance inducers in cultivated plants. The focus is on increasing yield and the nutritional quality of products intended for human or animal consumption, while maximizing the efficiency of natural resource use and minimizing external inputs. This approach aligns with the principles of biodiversity conservation, environmental protection, human health, and socio-economic well-being.
The BioAgry Lab operates at the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Siena and the BioEsperia company’s operational headquarters.
